Clay bricks have spanned countless generations and are still relied upon today for building as they are a robust material, ideal in protecting us against the elements. I have paid homage to this overlooked and overused material. Bricks are one of the most common objects made from clay; they have a wealth of information and inspiration that can be drawn upon.

This project is a celebration of bricks in architecture in order to resubmit and acknowledge their importance to the contemporary world. Bricks are seen as building materials that are used to build larger structures, not as finished articles. My consideration of this topic has led to an analysis in the relationship objects have with one another. This exploration into brick making processes and materials explores contemporary forms and reveals the interesting aesthetic this ancient craft can inspire.
